Designed to enhance the performance of your LTE network
The Hybrid Osprey includes both a high-performance LTE modem, as well as a Rajant InstaMesh node. Leveraging the Rajant InstaMesh algorithim, the Hybrid model provides seamless roaming between either the LTE infrastructure, a nearby Rajant neighbor on another truck or shovel, or potentially a Rajant infrastructure device. Connections to both the LTE infrastructure and nearby Rajant devices are analyzed on a packet-by-packet basis. If the device's LTE link is dropped, no harm done, as the device already has available alternate links and can route traffic over them and through the neighbor's available LTE link without the associated delays with switching networks.
Beyond extending coverage, the Hybrid Osprey provides significant throughput increases in high-traffic areas where the deployed LTE network may be reaching its throughput limit.
A solution that supports autonomy
When required by the network design, the Hybrid Osprey can also support the segregation of your network, allowing the autonomous application to reside on a stand-alone technology, while the other on-board applications reside on their own network, providing additional control of the autonomy traffic.
Overcoming the L2 connectivity challenge
The Hybrid LTE/InstaMesh Osprey provides access to L2 network functionality over a L3 network like LTE, by creating a tunnel over the LTE network, from the client device back to the customer's network for connection to the application servers. Regardless of whether the traffic traverses the LTE link via the tunnel, or stays local via an available InstaMesh link, the packets remain on the same L2 network ensuring smooth, efficient delivery.
The solution minimizes impact to applications, introducing minimal latency to mining applications that rely on this connectivity.
